20-year-old Fine Art student Andrea Herrada talked about her work, discussed her opinions on art and prospects for the future.

Originally from Madrid, Andrea moved to London in 2008 and started her degree at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and is now finishing it at the University of Westminster. She says she always knew she was into art, but wonders what makes a person an artist these days and if this is all a waste of time, which doesn’t come as a surprise for me.

She describes her art as inconsistent and does not want to narrow down to just one form of art such as painting or design: her interests range from painting to photography, film to collage, design to land art, etc.

Creativity and inspiration are not a problem, but she agrees progress can only come with hard work, organisation and autodiscipline. As a versatile and clearly talented artist, I’m sure we will be hearing more from her in the future.
